The Head2Toe team, now visiting homes
Head2Toe has been looking after people's bodies from the neck down for years in our Melbourne clinics. Head2Toe Home takes that same team to the people who cannot easily come to us.
Why we started a home-visit service
Every week our clinics hear from people who need physiotherapy or podiatry but cannot make the trip. A parent who no longer drives. A patient fresh out of hospital after a knee replacement. An NDIS participant for whom a clinic waiting room is the hardest part of the day. For a long time we fitted home visits around clinic hours when we could. Head2Toe Home makes it a proper service, with clinicians, time and equipment set aside for it.
Who we are
Head2Toe is a Melbourne physiotherapy and podiatry group with a team of around twenty clinicians and support staff across our clinics. We treat everything from sports injuries to diabetic foot care, and we have always believed that the best care is plain-spoken, practical and focused on what you want to get back to doing.
The physiotherapists and podiatrists who visit homes are members of that same team. They hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, the national body that registers health practitioners, and they work to the same clinical standards and record keeping as in the clinics.
How a home visit is different
A home visit is not a clinic appointment moved to a lounge room. It is a different kind of assessment. We see how you move in the rooms you use, the steps you climb and the shoes you actually wear. We set exercises up where you will do them. We talk with the family members and carers who are part of your daily life. And we bring what we need, so you do not need to buy or store anything.
Who we visit
Older adults who want to stay independent at home. NDIS participants with physical goals in their plan. People recovering from surgery who cannot travel yet. Anyone whose pain, fatigue or circumstances make a clinic visit hard. We visit homes across Melbourne's north and inner east, around our three clinics.
