Home visit physiotherapy and podiatry in Flemington

Flemington is a short run down Mount Alexander Road from our Moonee Ponds clinic. We visit homes across the suburb, including the Flemington housing estate, and the small neighbouring pocket of Travancore.

  • Your clinician comes from the Head2Toe clinic at 42 Pascoe Vale Road, Moonee Ponds
  • We visit the Flemington housing estate towers and walk-ups as well as the surrounding streets
  • This page also covers Travancore, the small pocket between Mount Alexander Road and the creek

Close to our clinic

Our Pascoe Vale Road clinic is a few minutes north of Flemington, which keeps travel short and visit times flexible. Travancore, the small suburb wedged between Mount Alexander Road and Moonee Ponds Creek, is covered by the same team and this page.

Visiting the estate

The Flemington housing estate on Racecourse Road is home to many older residents and people living with disability, and it is one of the places we visit most often. We are used to arranging access through building staff, using the lifts, and working in smaller apartments. Exercises are set up to use a chair, a wall and a doorway rather than space you do not have. If a support worker or family member helps with daily care, we show them the program too.

Who else we visit in Flemington

The streets of terraces and cottages around Wellington Street and Newmarket station have long-time residents who want to stay in their homes, and newer apartments along Racecourse Road house NDIS participants and people recovering from surgery. We visit all of them.

Walking goals in Flemington

Debneys Park beside the estate, the Moonee Ponds Creek trail, and the flat paths around Flemington Racecourse and the Showgrounds are all good places to rebuild walking confidence. Racecourse Road’s shops are a practical goal for people who want to manage their own errands again. For the hills up to Mount Alexander Road, we work on leg strength first.

After hospital

Flemington residents are usually treated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville, only a short distance away. We regularly visit people in the first weeks after discharge, following the hospital’s plan and getting them moving safely at home.

Podiatry at home

Nail and skin care, diabetic foot checks and footwear advice are available at home across Flemington and Travancore. Regular foot care is particularly important for estate residents who rely on walking for daily life.

Nearby suburbs

We also visit Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale, Kensington and North Melbourne.
