Home visit physiotherapy and podiatry in North Melbourne

North Melbourne is a village of terraces and a large housing estate on the edge of the hospital precinct. Our physiotherapists and podiatrists visit homes across the suburb from our Brunswick clinic.

  • Your clinician comes from the Head2Toe clinic at Suite 1, Level 1, 30 Sydney Road, Brunswick
  • We visit the North Melbourne housing estate as well as the terraces and new apartments
  • Errol Street's shops and the Royal Park paths are the local walking goals

Reaching North Melbourne from Brunswick

Our Sydney Road clinic is a few minutes from North Melbourne by way of Royal Parade and Flemington Road. The suburb’s narrow streets and busy parking are familiar to our team, and we plan visit times around them.

Visiting the estate

The North Melbourne housing estate, with its towers and walk-ups along Alfred Street and Melrose Street, is home to many older residents and people living with disability. We visit it often, know the access arrangements, and plan exercises around apartment-sized rooms. Where a support worker or family member helps with daily care, we show them the program so it continues between visits.

Who else we visit in North Melbourne

The Victorian terraces around Errol Street and Curzon Street house long-time residents who want to stay in their homes, often with steep stairs to manage. The newer apartments towards the Arden precinct house NDIS participants and people recovering from surgery. We visit all of them, along with residents of the suburb’s aged care homes.

After hospital

The Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Children’s are on the suburb’s northern edge, and many of our visits in North Melbourne are in the weeks after discharge. We follow the hospital’s plan, check the home is safe to move around in, and rebuild strength and walking where it matters.

Walking and balance in North Melbourne

Royal Park is on the doorstep, with wide, level paths, and the Errol Street village is a practical goal for people who want to manage their own errands again. The route 57 tram along Abbotsford Street and the trains at North Melbourne station are goals for people working towards independent travel.

Podiatry at home

Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments and footwear advice are available at home. Regular foot care is one of the simplest ways to stay mobile, especially for estate residents who rely on walking.

Nearby suburbs

We also visit Parkville, West Melbourne, Kensington and Flemington.
