Reaching West Melbourne
Our Pascoe Vale Road clinic is a straightforward run down Mount Alexander Road and Flemington Road to West Melbourne. Parking and building access are the usual challenges in this part of town, and our team is used to both. If your building needs us to be signed in or buzzed up, tell us when you enquire.
Who we visit in West Melbourne
Most of the people we see in West Melbourne live in apartments. They include NDIS participants in the newer buildings along Spencer Street and Dudley Street, older residents in the public housing near the market, and people recovering from surgery who cannot yet manage stairs, trams or a trip to a clinic. We plan exercises around apartment-sized spaces and use a chair, a wall and a doorway rather than equipment you do not have room for.
After hospital
West Melbourne is minutes from the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Children’s in Parkville, and from St Vincent’s across the city. Many of our visits here are in the weeks after discharge, when someone needs physiotherapy to rebuild strength and walking but cannot get to a clinic. We follow the hospital’s plan and keep your surgeon or GP informed if asked.
Walking and balance in the city’s edge
Flagstaff Gardens is the closest green space, with level paths and benches, and the Moonee Ponds Creek trail starts a short distance north. The Queen Victoria Market and Errol Street’s shops are practical goals for people who want to shop independently again. Lifts, long corridors and the step at the building entrance are all part of a home program here.
Podiatry at home
Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments and footwear advice are available at home across West Melbourne. City residents walk a lot, and comfortable feet keep that possible.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit North Melbourne, Kensington, Flemington and Parkville.
