Minutes from our Brunswick clinic
Our clinic on Sydney Road is at the Parkville end of Brunswick, so homes here are among the closest we visit. Travel time is minimal and visit slots are flexible.
Home after a Parkville hospital stay
The Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Royal Women’s, the Royal Children’s and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre sit together on the suburb’s southern edge, and a large share of the people we visit across the inner north have just come home from one of them. For Parkville residents that journey is especially short, and it is common for us to visit within days of discharge. We follow the plan your surgeon or hospital physiotherapist set, check the home is safe to move around in, and rebuild strength and walking in the place where it matters.
Who we visit in Parkville
The suburb’s grand Victorian terraces along Royal Parade and The Avenue house many long-time residents who want to stay in homes they have known for decades, often with steep internal stairs to manage. Newer apartments near the university and the hospitals are home to NDIS participants and people recovering from treatment. We visit both, along with residents of Parkville’s aged care homes.
Walking and balance in the parks
Royal Park and Princes Park are two of the largest and flattest green spaces in the inner north, with wide paths and plenty of benches. A walking program in Parkville almost always ends up in one of them. The tram stops on Royal Parade and the shops on Sydney Road are practical goals for people who want to travel and shop independently again.
Podiatry at home
Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments and footwear advice are available at home. Comfortable feet keep people walking, and walking is what keeps people well.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit Brunswick, Carlton North, North Melbourne and West Melbourne.
