Our Sydney Road clinic is a short drive from every street in Carlton North and Princes Hill. Parking on the narrow streets can take a moment, but travel time is low and visit times are flexible.

Most homes in Carlton North are Victorian terraces, and many have steep, narrow internal stairs, a step at the front door and a long, thin hallway. For older residents and people recovering from surgery, those features decide whether staying at home is safe. Our home programs here put real effort into stair technique, leg strength and the layout of the ground floor, and we are honest about when a rail, a second banister or a downstairs bed makes sense.
Who we visit in Carlton North
The suburb has many long-time residents who bought their terraces decades ago and have no intention of leaving, along with NDIS participants and people home from hospital. Enquiries often come from adult children who live elsewhere. We also visit the aged care homes and retirement living in and around the suburb.
Walking and balance in Carlton North
Princes Park is on the doorstep, with its wide, flat loop path and benches every few hundred metres. The Rathdowne Street village and the Lygon Street tram are practical goals for people who want to manage errands and travel on their own again. Princes Hill, tucked between the park and the Melbourne General Cemetery, has the same quiet streets and the same access to the park.
After hospital
Residents here are usually treated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville or St Vincent’s in Fitzroy, both only minutes away. We visit in the first weeks after discharge, following the hospital’s plan.
