Served from our Brunswick clinic
Our clinic on Sydney Road is a few minutes from Fitzroy North by way of Brunswick Road and Nicholson Street. Visit times are flexible, and our team knows the suburb’s one-way streets and tight parking.
Who we visit in Fitzroy North
The suburb’s Victorian and Edwardian terraces house many long-time residents who have no intention of leaving, and the stairs, narrow hallways and front steps of those houses are where our home programs are built. We also visit NDIS participants in the apartments along St Georges Road and Queens Parade, people recovering from surgery, and residents of the aged care homes in and around the suburb.
Walking and balance in Fitzroy North
Edinburgh Gardens is one of the best recovery walks in the inner north, flat, shaded and ringed with benches, and most homes in the suburb are within a few blocks of it. The Merri Creek trail runs along the northern edge for longer walks. St Georges Road’s shops and the route 11 tram are practical goals for people who want to manage errands and travel independently again.
After hospital
Fitzroy North residents are usually treated at St Vincent’s Hospital in Fitzroy or the Royal Melbourne in Parkville, both minutes away. We regularly visit in the first weeks after discharge from joint replacements, fractures and medical admissions, following the hospital’s plan and checking that the terrace, with its stairs, is safe to move around in.
Podiatry at home
Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are available at home across Fitzroy North. Comfortable feet keep people walking to the gardens, and that is what keeps them well.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit Fitzroy, Carlton North, Brunswick East and Clifton Hill.
