Close to our Brunswick clinic
Our clinic at 30 Sydney Road is only a few minutes west of Brunswick East, so home visits here fit easily into a clinician’s day and usually come with a choice of times.
Who we visit in Brunswick East
The suburb has a long-established community in the brick homes and terraces between Lygon Street and Nicholson Street, many from families who settled here in the decades after the war and want to stay in the homes they raised their children in. Newer apartment buildings along Lygon Street and Nicholson Street house NDIS participants and people recovering from surgery. We visit all of them, as well as residents of the suburb’s aged care homes.
Walking and balance by the creek
The Merri Creek trail is Brunswick East’s great asset, a flat, shaded path that runs the length of the suburb’s eastern edge, with CERES and Fleming Park as natural destinations. A home physiotherapy program here often starts with balance at the kitchen bench and works towards a stretch of the creek path. Lygon Street’s shops and the route 1 and 6 tram stops are practical goals for people who want to manage errands and travel on their own again.
After hospital
Brunswick East residents are usually treated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville, St Vincent’s in Fitzroy or John Fawkner Private in Coburg. A short block of home physiotherapy in the first weeks after a joint replacement, a fracture or an illness helps the discharge stick. We follow your surgeon’s plan and keep them informed if asked.
Podiatry at home
Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are all available at home. Many of our regular podiatry clients here are older residents who can no longer reach their feet comfortably.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit Brunswick, Fitzroy North, Coburg and Northcote.
