Close to our Brunswick clinic
Coburg sits directly north of Brunswick along Sydney Road and the Upfield train line, which makes it one of the easiest suburbs for our clinicians to reach. The Head2Toe clinic at 30 Sydney Road, Brunswick is the base for visits here, and travel time is short enough that we can usually offer a choice of visit times during the week.
After hospital in Coburg
John Fawkner Private Hospital on Moreland Road is in the middle of the suburb, and we regularly see people in the weeks after they are discharged from there or from the larger hospitals in Parkville and Heidelberg. If you are coming home after a knee or hip replacement, a fracture, or an illness that has left you weaker than before, a short block of home physiotherapy helps make the discharge stick. We follow the plan your surgeon or hospital physiotherapist set and keep them informed if asked.
Who we visit here
Coburg has a mix of long-time residents in the weatherboard and brick homes north of Bell Street, newer apartments around the Pentridge development and Coburg station, and a strong community of families caring for older relatives at home. We visit older adults who want to stay independent, NDIS participants, and people whose home care package funds allied health. Many of our Coburg enquiries come from adult children arranging care for a parent, and we are used to working that way.
Walking and balance in Coburg
Coburg Lake Reserve, with its flat paths around the lake, and the Merri Creek trail on the suburb’s eastern edge are two of the best places in the north for a graded walking program. Our falls prevention program often starts with exercises at the kitchen bench and builds towards a walk you want to do, with the lake loop a common goal. The gentle slope down to the creek is useful practice for people working on balance on uneven ground.
Feet and footwear
Our podiatrists visit Coburg for regular nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments and footwear advice. Sydney Road’s long shopping strip means many residents walk a lot of their daily errands, and sore feet or the wrong shoes can quietly shrink that routine. Keeping feet comfortable is one of the simplest ways to keep people active.
Nearby suburbs
This page also covers Coburg North, the streets north of Gaffney Street towards the Western Ring Road. From the Brunswick clinic we also visit Brunswick, Brunswick East, Fitzroy North, Northcote and Thornbury, and Pascoe Vale and Fawkner are served from our other clinics. If the visit is for someone in a neighbouring suburb, send an enquiry and we will confirm.
Arranging a visit
Head2Toe Home is part of the Head2Toe group. Send an enquiry with your suburb and funding type and we will match a clinician from the Brunswick clinic and call you to confirm a time.
