Served from Moonee Ponds, with Brunswick as backup
Pascoe Vale is close to both our Moonee Ponds and Brunswick clinics. We usually send a clinician from Moonee Ponds, but if continuity with a Brunswick clinician matters to you, tell us when you enquire.
Who we visit in Pascoe Vale
The suburb’s long streets of post-war homes have a large population of older residents, many from families who arrived in the 1950s and 60s and have never left. Adult children arranging care for a parent make up a good share of our enquiries here. We also visit NDIS participants, residents of the suburb’s aged care homes, and people recovering from surgery who cannot yet manage a clinic trip.
Walking and balance in Pascoe Vale
The Moonee Ponds Creek trail runs the length of the suburb’s western edge, flat and well surfaced, and it is the natural goal for many walking programs. The Cumberland Road shops and Pascoe Vale station are practical goals for people who want to manage errands and travel on their own. Some streets slope steeply towards the creek, so leg strength comes first for people on those blocks.
After hospital
Pascoe Vale residents are often discharged from John Fawkner Private Hospital in Coburg or the Royal Melbourne. A short block of home physiotherapy in the first weeks home after a joint replacement, a fracture or an illness helps the discharge stick, and we follow the plan your surgeon or hospital physiotherapist set.
Podiatry at home
Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are all available at home in Pascoe Vale and Pascoe Vale South. Regular foot care is particularly important for the many residents here managing diabetes with their GP.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit Strathmore, Coburg, Brunswick West and Moonee Ponds.
