Straight up the road from our clinic
Pascoe Vale Road runs from our clinic door almost into Strathmore, which makes it one of the quickest suburbs for us to reach. Visit times are flexible and, for people who were clinic patients before the trip became hard, the clinician is often someone they already know.
Who we visit in Strathmore
Strathmore is largely post-war brick homes on quiet, tree-lined streets, and a high proportion of its residents have lived there for decades. Our visits here are often arranged by an adult child after a parent has had a fall, a hospital stay, or simply started finding the house harder to manage. We also visit NDIS participants and people recovering from surgery.
Walking and balance close to home
The suburb is mostly flat, with Boeing Reserve, Woodlands Park on the Essendon border, and the Moonee Ponds Creek trail all offering level, well-kept paths. The Napier Street shops and Strathmore station are practical goals for people who want to manage their own errands and travel. A falls prevention program here usually starts with balance and strength work at the kitchen bench and progresses to a loop of the local park.
After hospital
Strathmore residents are often discharged from the Royal Melbourne Hospital or from private hospitals in the north west. A short block of home physiotherapy in the first weeks after a joint replacement or a period of illness helps the discharge stick. We follow the plan your surgeon set and keep them informed if asked.
Podiatry at home
Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are available at home. Many of our regular podiatry clients in Strathmore are older residents who can no longer reach their own feet comfortably.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit Essendon, Pascoe Vale, Niddrie and Moonee Ponds from the same clinic.
