A short drive from our clinic
Niddrie is on the far side of Essendon from our Pascoe Vale Road clinic, but still well within easy reach. Visits here fit comfortably into a clinician’s day, which means flexibility on times.
Who we visit in Niddrie
Niddrie is mostly post-war family homes, and a large share of its residents have been there since the houses were new. Staying in those homes is the goal we hear most often. Our visits are frequently arranged by an adult child who lives elsewhere and wants to know that a parent is safe, steady and looked after between family visits. We also see NDIS participants and people recovering from surgery.
Walking goals along Keilor Road
The Keilor Road shopping strip is the centre of life in Niddrie, and getting there on foot is a common goal for the people we see. A home physiotherapy program often starts with strength and balance at the kitchen bench, moves to the front path, and works towards the shops. For quieter walking, the Steele Creek trail and the local reserves offer flat, well-kept paths away from traffic.
After hospital
Niddrie residents are often discharged from the Royal Melbourne Hospital or from private hospitals across the north west. A block of home physiotherapy in the first weeks after a knee or hip replacement, a fracture or a period of illness keeps the recovery moving. We follow the plan your surgeon set and keep your GP informed if asked.
Podiatry at home
Our podiatrists visit Niddrie for nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice. Older residents who can no longer reach their own feet comfortably make up most of our regular podiatry visits here.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit Essendon, Strathmore, Avondale Heights and Aberfeldie from the same clinic.
Arranging a visit
