A few minutes from our clinic
Aberfeldie sits between Essendon and the river, and our Pascoe Vale Road clinic is close enough that visits here are easy to arrange around a clinician’s day. Travel is short, so we can usually offer a choice of times.
Who we visit in Aberfeldie
The suburb is mostly established family homes on generous blocks, and many of its residents have been there for decades. Our home visits here are often arranged by an adult child who has noticed a parent slowing down, having a fall, or finding the garden and the stairs harder than they used to be. We also visit NDIS participants and people recovering from surgery who cannot manage the trip to a clinic yet.
Hills, stairs and the river
Aberfeldie’s streets slope down towards the Maribyrnong, and many homes have steps at the front, the back or both. That makes leg strength and balance the first priorities in most of our programs here. We start indoors, progress to the front steps and the footpath, and work towards Aberfeldie Park or the river trail at the bottom of the hill. The flat path along the water is one of the best recovery walks in the north west once you are ready for it.
After hospital
Aberfeldie residents are often discharged from the Royal Melbourne Hospital or private hospitals in the north west. We visit in the first weeks home after joint replacements, fractures and illness, following your surgeon’s plan and making sure the house itself, with its steps and slopes, is managed safely.
Podiatry at home
Our podiatrists visit for nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments and footwear advice. On hilly streets, the right shoes matter more than usual, and a footwear appraisal at home looks at the pairs you actually wear.
Nearby suburbs
We also visit Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Maribyrnong and Avondale Heights from the same clinic.
