Home visit physiotherapy and podiatry in Northcote

Northcote stretches from Merri Creek to the Darebin Creek along High Street, a short drive east of our Brunswick clinic. Our physiotherapists and podiatrists visit homes across the suburb, including Westgarth.

  • Your clinician comes from the Head2Toe clinic at Suite 1, Level 1, 30 Sydney Road, Brunswick
  • All Nations Park and the Merri Creek trail are the local walking goals
  • High Street's shops and the route 86 tram are practical targets for independent errands

Served from our Brunswick clinic

Our clinic on Sydney Road is a few minutes from Northcote by way of Brunswick Road and the bridge over Merri Creek. Visit times are flexible, and the suburb is one we cover throughout the week.

Who we visit in Northcote

Northcote has a strong community of long-time residents in the Edwardian and Californian bungalow streets on either side of High Street, many from the Greek and Italian families who made the suburb their own in the decades after the war. Staying in those homes is the goal we hear most. Newer apartments along High Street and near Northcote station house NDIS participants and people recovering from surgery. We visit all of them, along with residents of the suburb’s aged care homes and retirement living.

Walking and balance in Northcote

All Nations Park, built on the old tip behind Northcote Plaza, has wide, gently graded paths and views across the city, and it is a favourite goal for walking programs here. The Merri Creek trail along the western edge and the Darebin Creek trail to the east both offer flat, shaded walks. High Street’s shops, Northcote Plaza and the route 86 tram are practical goals for people who want to manage errands and travel on their own again. Northcote’s hills, particularly around Westgarth, mean leg strength often comes first.

After hospital

Northcote residents are usually treated at St Vincent’s in Fitzroy, the Royal Melbourne in Parkville or the Austin in Heidelberg. We visit in the first weeks after discharge, following the hospital’s plan and checking that the home is safe to move around in.

Podiatry at home

Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are all available at home across Northcote. Many of our regular podiatry clients here are older residents who can no longer reach their feet comfortably.

We also visit Thornbury, Fitzroy North, Brunswick East and Fairfield.
