Home visit physiotherapy and podiatry in Fitzroy

Fitzroy is Brunswick Street, Smith Street, St Vincent's Hospital and the Atherton Gardens estate. Our physiotherapists and podiatrists visit homes across the suburb from our Brunswick clinic.

  • Your clinician comes from the Head2Toe clinic at Suite 1, Level 1, 30 Sydney Road, Brunswick
  • We visit the Atherton Gardens estate towers and the surrounding streets
  • Minutes from St Vincent's Hospital, so we often visit in the first days after discharge

Reaching Fitzroy from Brunswick

Our Sydney Road clinic is a short drive from Fitzroy by way of Nicholson Street. Parking is the usual inner-city challenge and our team is used to it. If your building needs us signed in or buzzed up, let us know when you enquire.

Visiting Atherton Gardens

The Atherton Gardens public housing estate on Brunswick Street is home to many older residents and people living with disability, and it is one of the places we visit most often in the inner north. We know the lifts, the intercoms and the building staff, and we plan exercises around the space available in an apartment. Where a support worker or family member helps with daily care, we teach them the program too.

Home after St Vincent’s

St Vincent’s Hospital sits on Fitzroy’s southern edge, and many of our visits here are in the first days and weeks after discharge, when someone is home from a joint replacement, a fracture or a medical admission and cannot yet manage a clinic trip. We follow the hospital’s plan, make sure the home is safe, and rebuild strength and walking where they are needed.

Who else we visit in Fitzroy

The suburb’s Victorian terraces, with their steep internal stairs and narrow hallways, house long-time residents who want to stay put, and the newer apartments along Smith Street house NDIS participants and people recovering from treatment. We visit all of them, along with residents of Fitzroy’s aged care homes.

Walking and balance in Fitzroy

Edinburgh Gardens and Carlton Gardens are both a short distance away, with flat paths and benches. Brunswick Street’s shops and the route 11 and 86 trams are practical goals for people who want to shop and travel on their own again. The Fitzroy Pool is a goal for people who want to return to swimming or water exercise.

Podiatry at home

Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments and footwear advice are available at home. Regular foot care keeps estate residents and terrace dwellers alike walking comfortably.

Nearby suburbs

We also visit Fitzroy North, Collingwood, Carlton and Clifton Hill.
