Home visit physiotherapy and podiatry in Canterbury

Canterbury is Maling Road, the Golden Mile and some of the grandest homes in the east, a few minutes south of our Kew East clinic. Our physiotherapists and podiatrists visit homes across the suburb.

  • Your clinician comes from the Head2Toe clinic at 1407 Burke Road, Kew East
  • Maling Road village and Canterbury station are practical goals for independent errands
  • Canterbury Gardens and the wide, flat streets of the Golden Mile suit a graded walking program

A few minutes from our Kew East clinic

Our clinic on Burke Road is a short drive from Canterbury by way of Burke Road and Mont Albert Road, so visit times are flexible and travel is short.

Who we visit in Canterbury

Canterbury has a high proportion of older residents, many living in the large Edwardian and Federation homes along Mont Albert Road and the streets around it, homes they have often owned for decades. Those houses come with stairs, long hallways, big gardens and the determination to stay in them. We also visit the suburb’s retirement villages and aged care homes, NDIS participants, and people recovering from surgery who cannot yet manage a clinic trip. Adult children arranging care for a parent make up a large share of our enquiries here.

Walking and balance in Canterbury

The suburb’s wide, flat streets along the Golden Mile are ideal for a graded walking program, and Canterbury Gardens offers level paths and benches. The Maling Road village, with its shops and cafes, and Canterbury station are practical goals for people who want to manage their own errands and travel again. Inside the home, long hallways and front steps are where most of our balance work starts.

After hospital

Canterbury residents are usually treated at Epworth Eastern in Box Hill, Cabrini in Malvern or the private hospitals in Kew and Camberwell. A short block of home physiotherapy in the first weeks after a joint replacement, a fracture or an illness helps the discharge stick. We follow your surgeon’s plan and keep them informed if asked.

Podiatry at home

Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are all available at home across Canterbury. Many of our regular podiatry clients here are older residents who can no longer reach their own feet comfortably.

Nearby suburbs

We also visit Balwyn, Camberwell, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert from the same clinic.
