Who we visit in Surrey Hills
Surrey Hills has a high proportion of older residents, many in the Edwardian and Californian bungalow homes they have owned for decades on the suburb’s leafy streets. Staying in those homes, with their front steps, long hallways and gardens, is the goal we hear most, and adult children arranging care for a parent make up a large share of our enquiries. We also visit the suburb’s retirement villages and aged care homes, NDIS participants, and people recovering from surgery who cannot yet manage a clinic trip.
Walking and balance in Surrey Hills
Surrey Gardens has flat paths and benches close to the village, and the suburb’s wide, mostly level streets suit a graded walking program. The Union Road village, with its shops and cafes, and Union station are practical goals for people who want to manage their own errands and travel again. Wattle Park, just to the south, offers longer walks once you are ready for its slopes.
After hospital
Surrey Hills residents are usually treated at Epworth Eastern or Box Hill Hospital, both minutes away, or at the private hospitals in Kew and Camberwell. A short block of home physiotherapy in the first weeks after a joint replacement, a fracture or an illness helps the discharge stick. We follow your surgeon’s plan and keep them informed if asked.

Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are all available at home across Surrey Hills, including in retirement villages. Many of our regular podiatry clients here are older residents who can no longer reach their own feet comfortably.
