Home visit physiotherapy and podiatry in Reservoir

Reservoir is a big suburb, from Edwardes Lake to the Darebin Creek and up to the Ring Road, and it is the northern hub of the area we visit. Our clinicians come up from Brunswick, and for people who cannot easily get to a clinic, we come to you. This page also covers Kingsbury.

  • Your clinician comes from the Head2Toe clinic at Suite 1, Level 1, 30 Sydney Road, Brunswick
  • This page also covers Kingsbury, beside La Trobe University
  • Edwardes Lake Park and the Darebin Creek trail are the local walking goals

The northern hub of our service area

Reservoir is the furthest north we go, and we treat it as a hub rather than an edge. Our Brunswick clinic is a straight run up St Georges Road or Plenty Road, and our clinicians plan Reservoir visits in blocks so that travel time is spent once, not four times. Reservoir is one of the largest suburbs in Melbourne’s north by area, and we cover all of it, from the streets around Broadway and the station to Kingsbury on the La Trobe University side.

Who we visit in Reservoir

Reservoir was built out in the 1950s and 60s, and many of the families who moved in then are still there, now in their seventies and eighties. The suburb has a large community of older residents from Italian, Greek, Macedonian and more recently Chinese and Indian backgrounds, and it is common for a son or daughter to contact us on a parent’s behalf. We welcome a family member sitting in if English is not the first language at home. We also visit NDIS participants, residents of the suburb’s many aged care homes, and people recovering from surgery.

Walking and balance in Reservoir

Edwardes Lake Park is the suburb’s centrepiece, with a flat loop path around the lake and plenty of benches, and it is the goal for many of our walking programs. The Darebin Creek trail runs along the eastern edge for longer walks. Broadway’s shops, Reservoir station and the Northland bus routes are practical goals for people who want to manage their own errands and travel again.

After hospital

Reservoir residents are usually treated at the Northern Hospital in Epping, the Austin in Heidelberg or John Fawkner Private in Coburg. A short block of home physiotherapy in the first weeks after a joint replacement, a fracture or an illness helps the discharge stick. We follow the plan your surgeon set.

Podiatry at home

Nail and skin care, diabetic foot assessments, ingrown toenail care and footwear advice are all available at home across Reservoir and Kingsbury. Regular podiatry matters for the many residents here managing diabetes with their GP.

Nearby suburbs

We also visit Preston, Fawkner, Thomastown and Heidelberg West.
